CHAPTER 01 • HISTORICAL ORIGINS

The Story of Stallion Ventures:
A Legacy That Crossed Borders

The story of Stallion Ventures (Private) Limited has its roots in pre-Partition Amritsar, where our family’s entrepreneurial journey began in the printing industry with Aftab Barqi Press (آفتاب برقی پریس).

Historical records confirm that Aftab Barqi Press was actively operating in Amritsar during the early decades of the twentieth century. The Punjab District Gazetteer – Amritsar District recognized Aftab Barqi among the important printing establishments of the city.

The press produced books, educational and religious literature, periodicals and other publications that circulated widely throughout British India. Surviving works printed by Aftab Barqi Press remain preserved in historical and digital archives today, providing an authentic and tangible connection to this early chapter of our heritage.

Punjab District Gazetteer

Officially cataloged and recognized within the historical Amritsar District Gazetteer among the prominent printing establishments contributing to the literary, educational, and intellectual fabric of the province.

Preserved in Academic & Historical Digital Archives

The Printing of Pukhtun

Among its most notable historical associations was the printing of Pukhtun, the seminal Pashto periodical founded by Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan (Bacha Khan) in 1928 — a publication of monumental socio-political and historical significance.

Tangible Heritage • Subcontinent Literary History

1947 • THE TURNING POINT

The Partition of 1947 changed the course of millions of lives across the subcontinent. Our family migrated from India to the newly established Pakistan, leaving behind their home, business and printing infrastructure in Amritsar.

The machinery could be left behind, but the knowledge, craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit could not.
